Ways to Cut Utility Costs

Did you know that more than 50 percent of your utility spend is due to heating and cooling costs? Here are several ways you can cut your heating and cooling cost in 2019.

Programmable Thermostats

Start with a programmable thermostat. If you haven’t changed out your thermostat in over a decade, it’s time to do so. There are several new models that can be programmed including some models that can be controlled by a mobile app. Installing a programmable thermostat can save you as much as 30 percent on your energy bills.

Seal Gaps & Cracks

As mentioned in a recent post, sealing air gaps is key to retaining conditioned air (heated or cooled air) and cut utility costs. Unsealed gaps and cracks can be costing you money each month and you are shortening the lifecycle of your HVAC systems by running them more often to achieve desired room temperatures.
