To improve comfort and lower your energy costs, proper insulation is essential. Due to building practices in the area over the years, many homes have minimal insulation. Currently the EPA recommends a minimum of an R49 rating for Midwest Region 5 which includes Illinois. But high efficiency homes are insulated to an R60 rating.
BLOWN IN ATTIC INSULATION
We use Owen ProPINK® Fiberglass Commercial grade blow-in insulation. With energy costs rising dramatically, homeowners want homes that are energy efficient. Owens Corning ProPINK® Insulation, is one of the most cost-effective and efficient ways to conserve energy and save money on heating and cooling costs. In fact, according to Engery.gov home buyers can save up to 30% on their energy bills.
We use commercial grade equipment to blow-in insulation. For areas that cannot be blown-in, batt insulation will be used.
INSULATION REMOVAL
We provide fast and affordable insulation removal services. Insulation removal is recommended for all critter infestations, i.e. raccoons in the attic. Insulation removal is also recommended for smoke damage or for cellulose removal.
Removal work is performed in one day. Our commercial insulation truck is parked close to entrance of the property. We lay tarps down from the entry to the attic access point. Next we run a 4″ hose from the equipment to the attic. Insulation is then removed utilizing powerful suction equipment stationed near the property entrance.
Old insulation is bagged carefully outside in order to prevent any cross contamination. Finally, we haul away all bagged insulation from the property.
ATTIC DISINFECTION
After insulation is removed, Attic Air can disinfect and deodorize the attic using a safe non-toxic disinfectant in order to kill bacteria, mildew, and eliminate odors.
RE-INSULATION
Attic Air can reinstall insulation the same day, however, there are no extra charges for a separate trip to the home if needed.
SOUND BARRIER INSULATION
We offer a variety of acoustical insulation options including Owens Corning QuietZone® Acoustic Batts.
QuietZone® acoustic batts are acoustically designed to control noise transmission between rooms, absorbing sound vibrations within the wall cavity to control noise in your home. They provide excellent in-place acoustical performance. Depending on the project, QuietZone® acoustic batts can improve Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings by 4 to 10 decibels. This is ideal for home theaters, family rooms, home offices, kitchens, bedrooms and laundry rooms—wherever noise control is needed.
